Dozens of Air India passengers were left stranded at Guwahati airport on Sunday night after their flight to Hyderabad was abruptly cancelled without any prior notice. Passengers, who were originally traveling from Kolkata to Hyderabad, found themselves caught in a frustrating chain of delays and cancellations.
What began as a routine connection turned into an ordeal, as the Kolkata-to-Guwahati leg was already delayed by two hours. But things worsened when the connecting flight to Hyderabad was cancelled without explanation. Frustrated passengers staged protests inside the terminal, shouting slogans through the night, demanding answers.
Some passengers said they received no updates from the airline staff, while others claimed even water or basic assistance was not provided during the long wait. “We are customers, not a joke,” said one visibly agitated traveller. The scene reflected growing public frustration with erratic air travel services and poor passenger communication.
As of Monday morning, several affected flyers were still seeking clarity on rescheduling and refunds, with Air India yet to issue a public statement.
